2/23/10 Montana:  Appeal of horse abuse trial begins:  Father/son from Georgia appeal previous conviction.  (photo)

AMH ID Number:  MT1
March 2009
Lot:  1 from herd of approximately 100

Location: Glacier County
Current Status: Herd mates in various conditions.
One was being chewed on by a pack of dogs, while it was still alive.
(Please note the condition of the forage--there is none.)

We have run 140 head of horses out of our pastures this winter, all different horses,
not the same ones. The common factor is their own fields are so overgrazed they are
looking for something to eat. We shudder to think how many are trespassing on the
summer pastures that we don't drive by regularly. They are walking over fences drifted
under, so we have to get them out and try to get wire strung above the snow drifts.
