12/4/09 Utah:  Homes needed for abused, abandoned horses:  Utah Animal Adoption Center has 20 horses. Utah seeing its share of recession animals, some abandoned in desert. Shelter  works with horses to make them more social. They are often afraid of humans or have had no formal training. Shelter not the place to get a perfect horse.  (video)

7/16/08  Utah:  Domestic horses unfit to be returned to the wild:  For someone who owns an old horse, the idea of turning it loose may sound better than just putting the horse down. But land managers warn that leaving a horse to live out its final days on the range is not only illegal but will mean a slow and painful death for the horse. (video)
